DEPUTY ROCK N TUNE

A bright, ringing high tenor with eager energy to spare, Deputy Rock N Tune dresses with unmistakable flair: blue bell‑bottom jeans with a bold red stripe, a blue necktie and hat, and a red shirt embroidered in blue that practically demands attention. He carries himself with youthful confidence and a touch of swagger, fueled by a visitor’s long‑ago tale of Elvis Presley, which Rock has taken deeply to heart. His attempt to channel Elvis results in enthusiastic hip movements, earnest sincerity, and frequent exclamations of “Thank you very much!” and “Uh‑huh‑huh!”—a tall order for a high tenor, but Rock gives it his all.

Rock is Sheriff J Bell’s deputy and best friend. Though noticeably more quick-witted than Bell when it comes to details, Rock is fiercely loyal and would follow the Sheriff into danger without hesitation. He manages the jailhouse and the telegraph lines with pride and competence, making him an invaluable assistant even when his attention occasionally drifts toward performance.

Romantically, Rock is deeply smitten with Rootin’ Tootin’ Annie, a sharp‑shooting cowgirl who only comes to town when urgently needed—meaning Rock spends most of his time waiting, dreaming, and rehearsing what he might say when she returns. His optimism is boundless, his heart firmly on his sleeve, and his enthusiasm entirely genuine.

In ensemble and quartet numbers, Rock supplies the floating tenor, ringing brightly above the harmony. Loyal, lively, and endlessly earnest, Deputy Rock N Tune brings youthful sparkle and rhythmic lift to Good Measures, always ready to help, sing, or strike a pose—sometimes all at once.
